For this child I prayed...

Well, today was the day I was to be induced to have Liam. God has a sense of humor and Liam arrived last Thursday! I should have known something would happen, I had so much on my to-do list to get done before today!

After my morning walk on Thursday, I noticed my back was real achy and was having some light contractions. But I went ahead and started dusting the house, one of many things on my list of to-do's. After putting my feet up for a little break and nothing changed, I decided to go the hospital to get checked. I got to labor & delivery at about 1:00 and was dilated to a 2 with contractions about 7 minutes apart. At 2:30, I was a 3 with contractions about 3 minutes apart. Tate got there from work, right on time. We started the blood work to get my epidural, but within an hour I was a 10 with hard contractions and not so patiently waiting for the doctor to show up. At 3:43, an hour and 13 minutes after being a 3, and a few pushes, Liam arrived! I have to say it was not how I had planned the birth, I wanted the epidural! But it was fast and worth it! Liam inhaled some of the meconium, but he is doing great. Here are some of our pictures from the hospital.

Introducing Liam Samuel Ellison! He weighed 6lbs 13 oz, is 20" long and has a head full of hair!

My first time to hold sweet Liam. He didn't look anything like we thought, but still beautiful!

Carol, the sweet nurse who basically delivered Liam and was with me through it all; my "un-quiet" labor groanings and my cries for the drugs! She was very gracious to me and took wonderful care of me.

Proud Daddy!

My sweet, sweet family.

Truett trying to find Liam's feet and toes.

Truett meeting his little brother. He wanted to see his "wittle toes". He kept saying "he's so cute".

Proud Poppa with his 13th grandchild!

Proud Mekah!

Proud Gramma!

Proud Grampa!

Truett wants to hold Liam every chance he gets. I love this picture, with Liam looking up at Truett.

This is how Liam usually looks during the day...asleep!

Speaking of asleep...Tate catching up after a long night.

We had many wonderful friends and family come and visit us and encourage us while we were in the hospital. Thank you to all of you for making this wonderful time even more special.

After waiting and praying so long for Liam to come, I have cherished every moment of this experience and am loving every moment with him. I am in awe of how God expands your heart to love so many so much. As many have said before, my cup overflows.

"For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him." 1 Samuel 1:27

He's so beautiful and an early bird! I especially love the pictures with Liam and Truett. They will have so much fun playing together and creating mischief (probably sooner than you think!).
