Change of Plans

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and wouldn't you know this little squirt turned! When Dr. Tadvick told me he was head down, I was speechless! I was already prepared for a c-section! Then he told me I was dilated to a 2, so that could mean I stay at a 2 for a couple of weeks, or I could go into labor sooner. If I haven't delivered by the 12th, he'll induce me which will be the same day as the c-section. So we'll have a baby soon, just via a different method!

Baby Shower

Some of my dear friends gave me a sweet baby shower this last week. It was held at my friend Rebekah's house and we had coffee punch (decaf) and cheesecake! Yummm! It was a wonderful time being surrounded by my friends and celebrating Liam! I didn't get many pictures, but here is a picture of the hostesses and myself.

From the left is Reyna McMillon, Jennifer Blessing, Rebekah Porter, Me, Cindy Stockton and Sherry Heiser. What a good looking bunch of women!

We have a date!

Well, Liam has dug his heels in...into the breech/transverse position. We knew this was a possibility with the shape of my uterus, but are still praying that he will turn, like Truett did. But as of now, I am scheduled to have a c-section on August 12th.

With Truett, I was scheduled to have a c-section, but the day before the surgery, he turned into the right position, so I was able to have him naturally. Either way, we just want the delivery to go smoothly and for Liam to be healthy. Although having a set date is nice, something to set my sights on... only 3 more weeks! So that's all I have for now, I'm going to go put my swollen piggies up!

July 4th

We had a little 4th celebration this year, nothing huge or spectacular. We had Tate's parents come out for some bar-b-que'd lamb and steak at my parents house. Since Sterling is still recovering, we just hung out at the house. Here are a few pictures from the evening.

Tate and Truett playing baseball in the front yard.

Our big fireworks celebration...playing with sparklers.

Truett finally decided he wanted to try holding a sparkler, he liked it until it started popping off little "bombs".

Cousin Camp, Part 1

I am part of a very large family, the youngest of 6 kids...so there are lots and lots of cousins, some close and some far away. Usually every summer my two sisters who live in Nashville come to Texas to visit for a few weeks. We call this "cousin camp" for all obvious reasons, as when we are all together, there are 7 cousins or so. This summer they couldn't be here at the same time, so my oldest sister, Kellye, and her family came for a few days. It's really fun for Truett because Kellye's youngest, Chase, is only 4 days younger than Truett. Usually we just hang around the ranch, swim in the little tank, go fishing, play and talk. Here are some pictures of Cousin Camp Part 1.

Here are the kids (and Tate) playing in Mekah & Poppa's swim tank. Works pretty good in a pinch!

Trying to catch all the fish in the tank, lots of lost hooks and dried up chicken livers! Yummy!

Poppa, Truett and Chase catching those "huge" perch! I think Truett was more interested in throwing rocks!

Ooohhh, my scary shark! Or, maybe just a good ham, like his dad!

It's feeding time on the ranch, so all the kiddos load up in the pick-up to help Poppa feed. This is one of Truett's favorite things to do everyday.

This is my sister, Kellye and her husband Allen with all the kiddos.

Helping Poppa gather the chicken eggs, always fun for kids!

Well, that's all for this part of cousin camp, I'm hoping my other sister will get to come in the next week or so. She and her family are actually moving from Nashville to the Dallas area this month, so we're really excited about that!

Update

Just an update on Tate's Dad, Sterling. He's at home and doing a lot better. He was able to get up and water his huge garden this morning, so that's a great improvement! He's still got a few months of recovery, so keep him in your prayers.

I saw Dr. Tadvick today, and everything is still looking great. I measured about 33 weeks, so that puts me due around the 16th of August or so. I'm hoping for earlier! I'm feeling pretty good, just tired and getting a little uncomfortable and swollen. But I'm still able to exercise most everyday, so that helps keep me going. I'll update when something exciting happens!

Truett has done an amazing job on potty training. We're 2 weeks into it, and he's pretty much got the hang of it! We had a few rough days, but he really likes wearing his Superman underwear, so that keeps him inspired to go in the potty! Yeah!

That's all for now, I'm sure you are all thrilled!

Catching up...

I keep meaning to update on things going on out here, and it's been 2 weeks since I've had those intentions! So here's a quick little update...

Father's Day was a little hectic for us. I'd planned on fixing a big Sunday lunch for Tate, my Dad and for Tate's Dad. But Sterling (Tate's Dad) ended up going into the hospital for stomach pains that he had been struggling with since we got back from San Antonio. He ended up having emergency surgery because of perforated diverticulitis (basically his colon burst and his abdominal cavity was filling up with infected pus!). He has had a hard time recovering and is still in the hospital, but we're hoping he'll get to leave this week. He is still very weak and dealing with pain, so keep him in your prayers!

Here is one picture of my Dad, Truett the 3rd, little Truett and Tate before lunch on Fathers Day.

We've also started potty training Truett...................Let's just say we've had some great moments, some pretty strange moments and some really hard moments as well. The hard moments are more because he's 3, and that explains a lot. The great moments are just wonderful, when the whole family is dancing, singing and clapping because of poop! I never knew the training would be so hard on the parent, so I am very thankful that the Lord gives us a new day with new strength!

And here is my super-duper pooper! Thankfully he's not old enough to get mad at me yet for posting this picture, but it's just too cute.

So that's all for now, I'll post more after I catch up on some rest!
